Serms like priorities are different in the US. Working more is definitely not on the top of my list! Lets figire out how to pull put of the system bwfore retirement even shows up.
Unpopular opinion, but get a job that pays well, and not one that you think you will like. You don't need to love the job. As long as the employer and coworkers are good, you will be happy. I am on track to retire right after 50, and I couldn't be happier. Never be cheap with others, take risks, work hard – not long, don't stay somewhere that doesn't pay you well, and don't push off having a family for financial reasons.
Thinking about retirement can feel distant, particularly if you're young or concentrating on short-term financial objectives. Nevertheless, beginning your retirement investments as soon as you can is one of the wisest financial choices you can make.
This article is total garbage. I feel terrible for the people that aren’t prepared for retirement— a 77 yr old trucker? God almighty. Poor guy.
Look at the professions/majors/jobs—- librarian, farmer, musician. Run-of-the-mill, MAYBE high school diploma type of jobs/careers. Advice like “don’t retire early”? What? Like you NEVER knew, realized or accepted you’d get old someday? Seriously, these people, as nice as they are, have their heads up their _____.
No healthcare – doctors, lawyers, nurses, pharmacists, etc.
Can you please get a more realistic representation of Americans?
I don't understand how people cant retire off of SS income. I can understand sickness, but there isnt much else that will devastate your savings. All your bills should be paid off before retiring.
The American dream is a house of cards. Those living well like myself will see everything disappear into my Golden years. I hope my assets hold value because our currency is going to collapse and health care is going to be garbage under the government, which it will eventually be.
“I have no important decisions to make, and no social network”
That sounds like a dream!!! I just want to retire now, walk all day with my dog, and be alone. Maybe I’ll mow lawns or something as a hobby for spending cash.
I'm retiring this year at 59. I don't have enough to retire. I do have a pension and will collect SS in 2.5 years. I have zero regrets. I'll figure it out. Life is too short to work until you die.

How am I supposed to worry about retirement when I’m worried about being on the verge of homelessness everyday ???
"You only have so many years to prepare for retirement." RIGHT!

Trabaja hasta que mueras… Ese es el mensaje del capitalismo salvaje que vivimos

Americans are not known for being financial savvy
If you're young and reading this-please, start. Even $20 a week into a Roth IRA is better than nothing. Your future selt will thank you.

These people have hit their 60s and are just used up.
Take drugs and steal money.
Retirement is definitely NOT boring. It's the best time of my life and the only regret is that I didn't retire in my 30s or 40s (if possible).
